Homer Noley

Homer Noley, 1932-2018, a member of the Choctaw Nation, blazed a trail for Native American ministries in the United Methodist Church and was the founder of the National United Methodist Native American Center.

For nearly 40 years, Noley worked for the inclusion of Native Americans at all levels of the denomination. Along with writing First White Frost, he also co-authored A Native American Theology, recognized as the first book to articulate a comprehensive and systematic Christian theology from a Native American perspective.
