The institutional church change we long for is already happening.

Crunching more data may be helpful but will not revolutionize, let alone save, a declining church. We need creative thinking done by people who are not afraid to face the institutional church.

Indeed, the change we long for is already happening. It is happening on the margins in ministries to the least, the last, and the lost. Written by two creative pastors with different but successful ministries, this breathtaking book will show you how the church can live out its mission and ignite a movement.

If we pay attention, we can let this Jesus Insurgency create new life.

Rudy Rasmus

Rudy Rasmus is an author, pastor, street ethicist, and global humanitarian with a passion for outreach to our world's most impoverished citizens. Pastor Rudy co-pastors St. John's Church, located in downtown Houston, with his wife Juanita.

St. John's is one of the most culturally diverse congregations in the country, where every week people of every social and economic background share the same pew. Since 1992, the church's membership has grown from nine to more than 9,000 people, including 3,000 homeless or formerly homeless individuals.

Pastor Rudy's "LoveRevolution" airs Sundays at noon eastern on SIRIUS XM Radio.

He is the author of Touch: Pressing Against the Wounds of a Broken World, and has contributed monthly to Oprah's O magazine and to Epitome magazine.

In 1992, Pastor Rudy and Juanita also founded Bread of Life, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation, which provides hungry families with nine tons of fresh food a week and nightly housing to hundreds of chronically homeless men and women. The Rasmuses also developed the Temenos Community Development Corporation and recently opened the $6 million Knowles-Temenos Place Apartments, which uses a generous donation from longtime friends Tina, Mathew, Beyoncé, and Solange Knowles to provide 43 formerly homeless residents a permanent apartment and supportive environment to take significant steps in improving their lives. Pastor Rudy also coordinates domestic and global anti-hunger initiatives in conjunction with Beyoncé's concert tours throughout the world.

Rudy and Juanita have been married for 25 years and are the proud parents of two daughters, Morgan and Ryan.
