Engage your teens’ energy, creativity, imagination, and focus as they make this book their own.Christians have long connected with God through writing and journaling. But words alone aren't always the best way to express how we feel. Sometimes we do better expressing ourselves in pictures and doodles, scribbles and scratches. Enter the BOOK OF FIDGETS, an interactive “doodle journal” that gives youth space to jot, sketch, scribble, and be creative. It’s not about doing, but about creating. Instead of filling in blanks or completing crossword puzzles, youth will doodle. They will create. They will have the freedom to go wherever their brain—and, more importantly, the Spirit—leads them.
FIDGETS offers all sorts of doodle and journal prompts, including activities related to Scripture, the seasons of the year, and what it means to be a Christian. In addition, teens will have fun creating an animated flipbook from scratch!
About the Authors
Josh Tinley
Josh Tinley is a high school math teacher who spent ten years as editor of youth curriculum at The United Methodist Publishing House. He is the managing editor of LinC, a weekly electronic curriculum for youth, and is the author of Book of Fidgets; Kneeling in the End Zone: Spiritual Lessons From the World of Sports; and numerous articles and curriculum pieces. Josh lives outside of Nashville with his wife and three children.
Keely Moore
Keely Moore has worked as a designer and freelance Illustrator for over 22 years. Her primary mediums have been watercolor, colored pencils, and pen and ink. She has won multiple watercolor awards and in 1998 she won a Addy Award for her Illustration work on the Curious George Style Guide for Universal Studios. In addition, she won a President's Award in 2011 for her design work on the Credo Confirmation Resources.
