Shout loudly; don't hold back; raise your voice like a trumpet!

“Shout loudly; don’t hold back; raise your voice like a trumpet!” The words of Isaiah 58 lay the groundwork for The Shout, a six-session small group study that uses art, poetry, and video performances to create a unique learning environment. The curriculum offers a framework for discussion in which participants explore their own answers after first hearing the perspectives of artists and creative thinkers. Participants are encouraged to venture into their community to listen for unheard prophetic voices and to help these voices be heard. Although the study Journal and Leader Guide are suitable for any of adult age, the searching hearts of many within the millennial generation are especially drawn to the message in The Shout.

The Shout DVD is designed for use alongside the study Journal and Leader Guide. It contains six video sessions, approximately 10-15 minutes each. Each session features performances of poets and other artists responding to one of the following questions, rooted in Isaiah 58:

1. Where is justice?
2. Who is your family?
3. What is freedom?
4. Who deserves our respect?
5. How much is enough?
6. How can we be whole?

After viewing the video, participants will respond to the performances and discuss the questions for themselves. They will be challenged to seek and listen to similar prophetic voices in their own community.

DVD is closed captioned.
